Does everybody start off with a circle or some sort of base? Is that even how pro drawers draw? Or do they just draw and no base or anything? |

While I'm not a very good drawer (I wish I was...) I can say that yes, the professionals do that also. |

Well, it's more accurate to start out with circles since I noticed I get problems with my faces getting crooked. So, to get it right and set an example for those who want to learn, I have to do it correctly and as accurately as possible. This is also good when drawing new things and faces. The more you start with the bases and circles, the more you'll know how to draw them. So at some point you can draw them without those bases because you already have them set in your mind from drawing it so much. So each picure you draw is valuable. |

You forgot the fact that their bottom jaws are attached to their clothes. :o Anyway, I don't normally use a circle, though it would probably help me a lot. ... of coure, msot of my drawings take like, five minutes, so. XD They wouldn't come out spectacular anyway. |

I usually use a circle when drawing freehand without anything in mind. When I set out to draw something specific it varies. |

I start all my pics with a head...which consist of the circular outline. Not every "pro" starts with the head, but I highly suggest it. it makes it easier to tell where everything, every body part will go. Then again...when i know exactly what I want to draw, I rarely use the circles. It varies from pic to pic. Also like Chibi Gunner said...sometimes the circles can make the face come out crooked. That's why I use guide lines in my circles to prevent that. You can still kinda see the outline i use |

circles! ,but make it really light, cause if you do a dark one you will ahve a hard time getting rid of it later. comon, everyones doing it! I think the general rule is after 50-100 drawings (i heard 2 different things from 2 different people) you should never use circles or wire frames as the bast of your drawings ever again, unless you do need a part for scaling or something. |
